What is an Apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a nationally recognised training programme which combines real work with learning and training, both on and off the job. Apprenticeships have become increasingly popular over the years as they enable you to learn whilst you work, whilst also providing a more practical and hands on approach to learning which many people prefer.
There are over 200 Apprenticeships available covering a wide range of sectors. Those who undertake an Apprenticeship and complete it successfully receive an Intermediate, Advanced or Higher Apprenticeship certificate. Apprentices receive a wage, whilst training and working towards the full apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship programme consists of several component parts. Through the programme an apprentice will develop a deeper understanding of knowledge skills and behaviours in the workplace. The remaining part of the apprenticeship is being aware of and understanding employment rights and responsibilities.
